charm: the quality of giving delight: his charm has captivated the media. friendliness: the quality of being kind.

antagonistic: showing active opposition to someone or something: he was antagonistic to the government’s reforms. hostility: antagonistic behavior and unfriendliness: their hostility to all outsiders.

ease: make something less severe. relieve: cause pain or distress to become less severe. allay: calm a troubling emotion of fear, anxiety, or suspicion: the company released more data to allay concerns about the drug’s safety.

disarm (v.): take weapons away from a person or force. disarmingly: in a manner that unexpectedly lowers someone’s psychological defenses: he was disarmingly honest about his mistakes| the plan was disarmingly simple, making my worries feel pointless.

square: the product of a number multiplied by itself. quadratic: involving the second of a quantity. cube: the product of a number multiplied by its square: the cube of its length. quartic: involving the fourth of a quantity.
